The Abiyot Boru washing station is located in the Shakiso district of Ethiopia, about 60 miles from the world-famous Yirgacheffe region.

During the harvest season, small producers from the nearby area deliver ripe cherries to the washing station where they are carefully sorted, pulped, fermented, and washed. The washed parchment is sorted again, then placed immediately on raised beds which are constructed to ensure proper air circulation, ultimately providing the best quality and best-tasting coffees.
