Free Range is more than a seasonal release — it’s our fourth year partnering with Western Sustainability Exchange (WSE) to support their mission of rebalancing our relationship with nature. For every pound sold, we donate 50¢ to help WSE preserve open space, strengthen local food systems, and promote regenerative practices that leave healthier landscapes for future generations.
Grown in Chiapas. Roasted for Autumn.
When we craft seasonal coffees, we search for flavors that capture the feeling of the season. Autumn in Southwest Montana is a study in contrast: golden aspen groves and crisp September mornings quickly give way to frost, snow, and the first shadows of winter.
Coffees from Chiapas, Mexico thrive in volcanic soils and at high altitudes, producing a natural chocolatey sweetness that shines in drip brewing. We roast Free Range to a balanced medium-dark profile, creating a full mouthfeel that pairs with cream, sugar, or nothing at all. Expect flavors of Mexican cocoa, walnuts, and allspice — approachable yet nuanced, perfect for a single mug at home or a big pot shared around camp.

Coffee and the Rhythm of the Seasons
Fall reminds us that decay makes way for new life. It’s a cycle we’re fortunate to witness — whether it’s in the aspen leaves underfoot, the first dustings of snow in the high country, or the steam rising from a hot cup of coffee.
For our family, autumn is spent in the mountains, often in pursuit of big game with hopes of filling freezers for winter. Out there, the first cup of the morning is fuel, but the memorable ones are savored in silence — watching ridgelines come alive and rediscovering the quiet truths of wild places.
Whatever your fall pursuit may be, we hope Free Range gives you reason to slow down, notice the season’s shift, and reflect on your place in the ecosystem we all share.
As Aldo Leopold once wrote:
“We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”
Our Partnership with Western Sustainability Exchange
Based in Livingston, Montana, Western Sustainability Exchange works with farmers and ranchers to strengthen soil health, restore water cycles, and increase biodiversity through regenerative practices. Their efforts support family-run businesses while ensuring working lands can thrive for generations.
Beyond the ranch, WSE also hosts the Livingston Farmers Market, a weekly gathering where producers, craftsmen, and neighbors come together over local food and music. For small farms like Old Daisy Farm, it’s been an essential way to connect with the Greater Yellowstone community.
We’re proud to stand with WSE and their work — and proud to contribute 50¢ from every bag of Free Range to their mission.
