First Cup: McCauley Todd
April 14, 2020
First Cup is our new blog series that highlights our coffee drinkers and their morning ritual. We just caught up with University of Montana Western Football coach and fly fishing fanatic, McCauley Todd on how he gets moving in the morning.
Yellowstone Coffee Roasters: How do you wake up in the morning? What time?
McCauley: I am up between 5 and 7 AM depending on the day. I go right to the coffee and get the water going while I get ready to head into the coaches office.
YCR: How do you prepare your coffee? What do you drink?
McCauley: During the week I make pourovers and drink two cups throughout the morning. Big Timber Blend and Big Sky Lift are my go-tos, but I have recently been enjoying lighter coffees such as the new Ethiopia.
YCR: After coffee?
McCauley: Depending on the time of year and whether we are in or out of season, I am either recruiting, watching and breaking down film, or game planning for the next opponent.
YCR: What is your favorite place to drink coffee?
McCauley: A big French Press around camp in the morning while getting ready to hit the water.
